Use a PC as a remote control There are several reasons why you may want to use your computer as a remote control. Some are using a small PC such as Pocket PC or the Samsung Q1 which have richer functionality then the remote
controls on the market. Others have their PC located in their equipment rack and like the ability to connect to it over WiFi, Bluetooth, a wireless connection or perhaps the Internet and control their equipment. Connecting in this way provides greater range then using a RF (Radio Frequency) or Infrared remote control. Perhaps your equipment rack is indoors but you are sitting in your outdoor theater area. Rather then running wires, a standard computer connection and a laptop or smaller computer can serve as the remote.
