JVC 3D TV

Everything you need to find the right JVC 3D TV for your needs. Providing price comparisons as well as 3D information to assist you in making the right 3D television purchase.

JVC has taken a slightly different approach to 3D TV development than most of the major television manufactures. 3D is still in its early stages so it is yet to be determined if the JVC 3D TV approach will catch on but at this time they have a limited lineup of products available which is preventing JVC from being much of a player in the TV space.

The key difference between the JVC approach and the more common approach is that most TV manufactures are using active shutter technology and JVC is using polarizing technology. For details on how the active shutter technology works see how does 3D TV work. Rather than using an interlaced approach with the shutter glasses, JVC is using a interleaved approach with polarizing glasses. In simple terms, rather than rapidly alternating between images for the left and right eye, JVC is showing both images at the same time splitting the rows on the television. The advantage to this is that both the images are present providing good color quality and less strain on the eye. However the disadvantage is that the 1080 lines of resolution are now split in half to 540 lines resulting in less clarity and providing a picture less than HD quality.

3D TV Prices
JVC 3D TV prices are very fluid and often drop rapidly therefore it is important to do a price comparison prior to making your purchase to ensure you are getting the best value. See 3D TV Prices to compare prices across multiple TV suppliers and across different brands.

Do Not Forget The 3D TV Glasses
In order to watch 3D TV you will need 3D TV glasses, when considering glasses it is important to know that the glasses are not all the same. Although, of the three different technologies, all manufactures have standardized on using the active shutter glasses, the technology to synchronize the glasses to the TV has not been standardized. Therefore there is no guarantee that glasses from one manufacture will work with another manufactures TV. Your best bet is to buy 3D glasses manufactured by the same company as your TV. And yes, you will need glasses for anyone who wants to watch 3D TV. Without them the picture will appear fuzzy.

3D TV HDMI Cable Requirements
Unfortunately only version 1.4 HDMI cables will support 3D TV. This version was released in 2009, so it is likely that your current cables are version 1.3 meaning you will also need to upgrade your HDMI cables. However you only need to upgrade the cables that will be providing 3D content such as between your 3D Blu Ray player and your TV.
