LG 3D TV

Everything you need to find the right LG 3D TV for your needs. Providing price comparisons as well as 3D information to assist you in making the right 3D television purchase.

Compared to some of its competitors such as Samsung, Mitsubishi and Sony, LG has a been slow to offer 3D TV options. Currently only offering a few models of 3D TVs in its extensive lineup. However in general LG TVs are definitely getting better and they are a company worth keeping an eye on. LG continues to improve quality and is now adding some of the more advanced features found in competitors offerings.

The current LG 3D TVs are based on their new LED technology providing great brightness and contrast with the ability to handle fast moving objects such as sports or video games. In addition, the LG TVs include other features such as great style and a thin TV frame. LG was one of the first to offer the Vudu service which allows on demand streaming of HD movies directly to your TV. Of course they also offer the more common Netflix and You Tube streaming that are found in man of the newer TVs.

When it comes to LG 3D TVs one will want to consider two things. One is the value for the money and if LG's TVs are comparable to some of their competitors that have been offering 3D for a longer period of time and are offering it across their lineups. LG had a bit of a late start and therefore is not as competitively priced as the competition at this time. I suspect that will change as 3D is rolled out across their lineup. The second is that LG has some catching up to do and the competitors will be on their next version of 3D by the time LG gets theirs broadly rolled out. If LG can offer similar 3D quality remains to be seen.

3D TV Prices
LG 3D TV prices are very fluid and often drop rapidly therefore it is important to do a price comparison prior to making your purchase to ensure you are getting the best value. See 3D TV Prices to compare prices across multiple TV suppliers and across different brands.

Do Not Forget The 3D TV Glasses
In order to watch 3D TV you will need 3D TV glasses, when considering glasses it is important to know that the glasses are not all the same. Although, of the three different technologies, all manufactures have standardized on using the active shutter glasses, the technology to synchronize the glasses to the TV has not been standardized. Therefore there is no guarantee that glasses from one manufacture will work with another manufactures TV. Your best bet is to buy 3D glasses manufactured by the same company as your TV. And yes, you will need glasses for anyone who wants to watch 3D TV. Without them the picture will appear fuzzy.

3D TV HDMI Cable Requirements
Unfortunately only version 1.4 HDMI cables will support 3D TV. This version was released in 2009, so it is likely that your current cables are version 1.3 meaning you will also need to upgrade your HDMI cables. However you only need to upgrade the cables that will be providing 3D content such as between your 3D Blu Ray player and your TV.
