Install TV Wall Mount

The basic steps to mounting a TV with a Lucasey wall mount are below. For additional details see How to wall mount a TV.

  • Determine the correct location and height. If possible we recommend that the bottom of the TV be eye level while sitting. This provides a good balance between viewing while sitting and looking too low while standing.

  • Find the studs in the wall or determine approach to mounting if a non studded wall such as brick or cinderblock. Mark these mount holes, use a level to make sure the markings are straight.

  • Determine your approach for running the wires. Several options are available, poke holes in the wall and hide the cables in the wall, use thin cables that are easily hidden or use a cable cover such as the Vantage Point WC60W or Sanus VMCTB and paint it to match the wall.
  • Connect the mount to the wall. Make sure you turn off (at the circuit breaker) all power to the room and surrounding rooms. If you do accidentally drill or screw into any existing electrical wiring you do not want to find out the hard way. Once again check everything with a level to make sure it is straight. Verify the mount is solidly attached to the wall.

  • Hang the TV on the mount. Make sure the wiring to the TV is accessible after hanging or attach the wiring before hanging. Note that most TVs require two people to hang them. It is not easy to see around the TV to line up the mount points, therefore ask for help on this step. Also, after hanging, do not forget to lock the safety locks if your mount has them.
  • Of course if your mount comes with instructions, be sure to read them as well. There may be specific instructions for your mount.
