Outdoor Heaters

Outdoor heaters have come along way in the last few years. They are efficient, reliable and inexpensive to operate. Above all that, they are now affordable, costing much less then you may expect. We recommend Outdoor-Heat for your heating needs, their selection and prices are excellent.

Outdoor Radiant Heaters
Radiant heat is an excellent option for heating outdoors, especially when you will be stationary in one place such as eating or watching a movie in your outdoor theater. Radiant heat warms the people and objects within a certain range (usually around 10 ft) rather then the air, which if outdoors will just blow away. Outdoor propane heaters
Probably the most popular propane heaters are the mushroom looking outdoor patio heaters. The reason they are so popular is that they are a good choice for portable outdoor heaters. They use a propane tank so can easily be moved around and give off a lot of heat. Despite their popularity, my experiences have not been positive and I would recommend electric or propane radiant heaters instead. The reasoning is that the convenience of moving around mushroom heaters does not offset the fact that they heat the air and on windy days, or if you are not sitting close to them, you will be cold. The propane Radiant heaters on the other hand are excellent but expensive. With the Radiant heaters, if you are within a 10-15 foot range you will be warm. Also consider Natural Gas outdoor heaters that can be attached to the natural gas in our home reducing the need for tank that requires refilling. Drawback to Natural Gas is that the hookup to your home limits the ability to move the heater.

Outdoor electric heaters
Although there are many outdoor electric patio heaters on the market. Radiant heaters, outdoor space heaters, Spot heaters, etc. I once again select radiant heaters as the best option for electric heat. In fact the heaters I use on my home are the Algarve outdoor heaters. Obviously these are only portable if mounted on a stand and you have an extension cord.
