Everything you need to find the right Samsung 3D TV for your needs. Providing price comparisons as well as 3D information to assist you in making the right 3D television purchase.
Samsung is known for making good LCD TVs, they are normally at the forefront of providing new features in the LCD space such as producing ever thinner TVs, allowing the TV to connect to the internet as well as setting new levels of standards for picture quality. 3D is no exception, Samsung was one of the first to implement 3D into their TVs and now offer 3D in each of their television technologies, LCD, LED and Plasma.
So which is the right Samsung 3D TV for you? Like most TV buying decisions this comes down to dynamics of the room you will watch the TV in, cost and the size of TV desired. There are several articles available in the left navigation bar of this website that explain the differences between the technologies and when one is better than the other so I will not repeat it here. Bottom line, all these technologies provide a great 3D picture and all will require 3D glasses. If you will be watching the TV in a bright room consider a LCD or LED TV. If the room will be dark, a Plasma or LED TV may be a better fit.
Samsung is working hard to ensure that there is no shortage of 3D content to watch. Partnering with DreamWorks Animation to create content and also providing a feature on their 3D TVs that will convert standard 2D content into 3D.
Note that if you are open to other technologies such as DLP TVs or Laser TVs you may want to consider Mitsubishi 3D TVs. You can get a bigger TV for the money, however you will not be able to hang it on the wall like you can with the technologies offered by Samsung.
3D TV Prices Samsung 3D TV prices are very fluid and often drop rapidly therefore it is important to do a price comparison prior to making your purchase to ensure you are getting the best value. See 3D TV Prices to compare prices across multiple TV suppliers and across different brands.
Do Not Forget The 3D TV Glasses In order to watch 3D TV you will need 3D TV glasses, when considering glasses it is important to know that the glasses are not all the same. Although, of the three different technologies, all manufactures have standardized on using the active shutter glasses, the technology to synchronize the glasses to the TV has not been standardized. Therefore there is no guarantee that glasses from one manufacture will work with another manufactures TV. Your best bet is to buy 3D glasses manufactured by the same company as your TV. And yes, you will need glasses for anyone who wants to watch 3D TV. Without them the picture will appear fuzzy.
3D TV HDMI Cable Requirements Unfortunately only version 1.4 HDMI cables will support 3D TV. This version was released in 2009, so it is likely that your current cables are version 1.3 meaning you will also need to upgrade your HDMI cables. However you only need to upgrade the cables that will be providing 3D content such as between your 3D Blu Ray player and your TV.
