Everything you need to find the right Sharp 3D TV for your needs. Providing price comparisons as well as 3D information to assist you in making the right 3D television purchase.
Sharp has 3D technology, but has been slow to release 3D TVs while many of their competitors have released 3D technology across their lineups. Currently Sharp is not a major player in consumer 3D TVs and does not, at this time, have a TV worth considering if 3D technology is important to you. That certainly does not mean they will not have a TV worth looking at in the future. Sharp, along with Philips, appear to be leading the way with 3D TV technology that will allow you to watch 3D TV without glasses. This is probably not going to be released until late 2011 or 2012, depending on the rate of 3D adoption. Therefore for immediate 3D needs Sharp is not the answer and you will need to look elsewhere, but keep an eye on Sharp when looking in the future.
3D TV Prices Sharp 3D TV prices are very fluid and often drop rapidly therefore it is important to do a price comparison prior to making your purchase to ensure you are getting the best value. See 3D TV Prices to compare prices across multiple TV suppliers and across different brands.
Do Not Forget The 3D TV Glasses In order to watch 3D TV you will need 3D TV glasses, when considering glasses it is important to know that the glasses are not all the same. Although, of the three different technologies, all manufactures have standardized on using the active shutter glasses, the technology to synchronize the glasses to the TV has not been standardized. Therefore there is no guarantee that glasses from one manufacture will work with another manufactures TV. Your best bet is to buy 3D glasses manufactured by the same company as your TV. And yes, you will need glasses for anyone who wants to watch 3D TV. Without them the picture will appear fuzzy.
3D TV HDMI Cable Requirements Unfortunately only version 1.4 HDMI cables will support 3D TV. This version was released in 2009, so it is likely that your current cables are version 1.3 meaning you will also need to upgrade your HDMI cables. However you only need to upgrade the cables that will be providing 3D content such as between your 3D Blu Ray player and your TV.
